Solution :

\underline{\bf{Given\::}}}

  • Focal length, (f) = 10 cm
  • Distance of object from mirror, (u) = -20 cm

\underline{\bf{To\:find\::}}}

The distance of Image from mirror.

\underline{\bf{Explanation\::}}}

Using formula of the mirror :

\boxed{\bf{\dfrac{1}{f} =\dfrac{1}{v} +\dfrac{1}{u} }}

\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{10} =\dfrac{1}{v} +\dfrac{1}{(-20)} }\\\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{10} =\dfrac{1}{v} -\dfrac{1}{20} }\\\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{v} =\dfrac{1}{10} +\dfrac{1}{20} }\\\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{v} =\dfrac{2 + 1}{20}}\\\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{v} =\dfrac{3}{20}}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{3v=20}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{v=\cancel{20/3}}\\\\\longrightarrow\bf{v=6.66\:cm}

Thus;

The distance of Image from mirror will be 6.66 cm, & Image is formed behind the mirror .
