Answer:
A man had a beautiful parrot from Africa. He kept the parrot in a cage and gave it lots of good food to eat.
One day the man said to the parrot, "I am going to Africa. I will get you a present from there when I come back. What do you want me to bring?"
The parrot with an upset mood replied to the man, "I don't want anything. I only want to be free. Please set me free from this cage."
The man said, "I can't set you free. Ask for anything else."
"Then go to my friends in the forest and tell them that I send them greetings from my cage," replied the parrot.
The man went to the forest in Africa and met the birds which were sitting in a group on the branch of a tree. He told the birds, "My parrot sends you greetings from his cage."
Suddenly one of the wild parrots from the group of birds fell out of the tree on the ground. The parrot laid near the man's feet as if it was dead.
The man went back home. On his return, he told his parrot about the wild parrot how it fell from the tree and died.
After hearing to the man, at once the parrot also fell down in its cage. It lay without moving for some time inside the cage. The man thought that his parrot is also dead and said, "My poor loving pet. I am so sorry for you. You died when you heard that your friend had died."
Feeling guilty about being said about the news to his only pet, the man gently took the parrot out of its cage.
Without being realised by the man, within a blink, the clever parrot said, 'Not at all,". In no time the parrot spread its wings and began flying. The parrot said, "My friend showed me the way of how to escape myself from the cage. Now we both are alive and free!" and the clever parrot flew away.
Hence, the clever parrot used its cleverness by understanding the message passed on to him by the wild parrot in the forest who did not die but pretended to be dead to show the man. The parrot was not happy in the cage because it was unable to fly freely and see the world. However, in the end, it set a plan and became free.
