Following are a few definitions of osmosis. Read carefully and select the correct definition:

(a) Movement of water molecules from a region of higher concentration to
a region of lower concentration through a semipermeable membrane
(b) Movement of solvent molecules from its higher concentration to lower
concentration
(c) Movement of solvent molecules from higher concentration to lower
concentration of solution through a permeable membrane
(d) Movement of solute molecules from lower concentration to higher
concentration of solution through a semipermeable membrane

(d) Movement of solute molecules from lower concentration to higher
concentration of solution through a semipermeable membrane.
This is the correct definition of OSMOSIS.

When there is high solute concentration the solvent concentration is less.
osmosis is the process by which solvent moves from a region of low solute concentration to a refurb of high solute concentration through a semi permeable membrane. None of the options seem to exactly match with the correct definition if osmosis. The answer may be (d) but it must be the movement of solvent molecules.
