1) formal sources :- This type of information comes from inside or outside of the organization by formal means.

a) from inside the organization :- annual reports, management reports, employ or staff personal data, planning and decision records, computerized systems and many more.

b) from outside the organization :- government reports and strategies, business market reports, share market reports, information through surveys and many more.

2) informal sources :- the information that is collected informally like from co workers, friends or locality.
