Step-by-step explanation:

0.2x+0.3y=1.3... 1

0.4x+0.5y=2.3.....2

Multiply by 10 on both sides to 1 & 2

Equations becomes

2x+3y = 13.....3

4x +5y = 23.....4

Multiply by 2 on equation 3

4x +6y = 26... 5

Let subtract 4 from 5

4x +6y = 26

-

4x - 5y = - 23

y =3

From equation 3

2x+3y = 13

2x + 3× 3 =13

2x = 13-9

2x = 4

x= 2
