Answer: D6 = 76.2

Solution:
Arranging observations in the ascending order,
We get :

36,38,51,68,70,72,79,82,82,7279

Here, n = 10

D6 = [(6(n+1)/10]th value of the observation

= [(6 * 11)/10]th value of the observation

= (6.6)th value of the observation

= 6th observation +0.6[7th-6th]

= 72 + 0.6[79-72]

= 72 + 0.6(7)

= 72 + 4.2

= 76.2
