Explanation :-

a) 4 electric bulbs of 50 W used for 4 hours per day

Solution :-

Total power of four bulbs = 4 × 50 W

➠ 4 × 50 W

➠ 200 W

Energy consumed in 1 day ::

➠ 200 W × 4 h

➠ 800 Wh

Therefore, Energy consumed in January 2021 is,

➠ 800 Wh × 31

➠ 24800 Wh

Now, cost [ electric bill ] is,

Given that,

• Cost of 1 unit of electric energy = Rs. 5

Total cost is,

➠ 24800 × 5

➠ 124000

Therefore, the electric bill for month of January 2021 is Rs. 124000.

b) 1 Geyser of 1.5 kW 1 hr per day

Solution :-

Converting 1.5 kW to 1500 W,

Total power of one geyser = 1 × 1500 W

➠ 1 × 1500 W

➠ 1500 W

Energy consumed in one day ::

➠ 1500 W × 1 h

➠ 1500 Wh

Therefore, Energy consumed in January 2021 is,

➠ 46500 Wh
