Given :  A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J is   an arithmetic progression of 10

terms.

Average of B, C, H and I is 2.

To Find :  value of A + J

Solution:

Let say d is common difference

and A is first term of AP

B = A + d

C = A + 2d

H =  A + 7d

I   = A  + 8d

Sum =   ( 4A  + 18d)

Average =  (4A + 18d)/4  = A  + 4.5d

A  + 4.5d   = 2

J = A + 9d

=> A  + J  = A  + A + 9d

=> A + J  =  2A  + 9d

=> A + J  =  2 (A + 4.5d)

=> A + J  = 2 ( 2)

=> A + J  = 4

value of A + J  is 4
