Option containing anything other than ISO 27000 Series, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, NIST CSF,  NIST SP 1800 Series, COBIT, CIS Controls, HITRUST Common Security,  GDPR and COSO is not a security standard.

  • Security standard, also known as cyber security standard, involves techniques that are generally outlined in published materials in order to protect a user's or organization's cyber environment.
  • Users, networks, devices, all software, processes, information in storage or transit, applications, services, and systems that can be connected directly or indirectly to networks are all part of this environment.
  • A security standard is also a collection of documented processes that define policies and procedures for implementing and managing information security controls.
  • These serve as a road map for risk management and vulnerability reduction.
  • The Healthcare industry might want to look into HITRUST.
  • On the other hand, the ISO 27000 Series of information security frameworks is relevant to both public and commercial sectors.
  • Thus, anything other than the enlisted or other national standards do not belong under a security standard.
  • It can be fairly agreed that Apple and Xiaomi both claim to pursue the customer value route in pricing, although in their own different ways.
