Given:-

  • Length of the rectangle = 48 m

  • Diagonal of rectangle = 50 m

To Find:-

  • Area of Rectangle

Theoream/Formula Used

  • Pythagorean theoream

(Hypotenuse)² = (Base)² + (Perpendicular)²

  • Area of rectangle

length × breadth

Solution:-

Finding breadth of rectangle

In ∆ ABC

❉ AB (Base) = 48 m

❉ AC (Hypotenuse) = 50m

❉ ∠ABC = 90° [Property of rectangle]

According to Pythagorean theoream;

(Hypotenuse)² = (Base)² + (Perpendicular)²

➟ (50)² = (48)² + (BC)²

➟ 2500 = 2304 + BC²

➟ BC² = 2500 - 2304

➟ BC² = 196

➟ BC = √14×14

➟ BC = 14m

∴ Breadth = BC = 14m

Finding Area of rectangle

❉ Area of rectangle

= length × breadth

= 48 × 14

= 672cm²

∴ Area of rectangle is 672cm²
