Food sometimes enters the wind pipe and causes choking. How does it happen?

when we talk while eating or laugh  the epiglottis gets confused that which pipe to cover this cause s food to enter wind pipe and causes choking this sometimes may lead to death too

when we talk or laugh our epiglottis covers the food pipe so that the air passes through the air pipe and it doesnt get into the food pipe and while eating food it is th reverse

now, when we talk or laugh while eating, the epiglottis gets confused which pipe to cover .... so food gets into the air pipe and causes choking... to take out that food from the air pipe we cough ..
