Asexual reproduction[1] is a type of reproduction by which offspring arise from a single organism, and inherit the genes of that parent only; it does not involve the fusion of gametes, and almost never changes the number of chromosomes.form of reproduction for single-celled organisms such as archaea and bacteria. Many plants and fungi sometimes reproduce asexually. Some asexual cells die when they are very young.

Haploid gametes are not involved in this type of reproduction

This is the simplest and most

primitive method of reproduction

Modes of Asexual Reproduction:-

Organisms choose to reproduce asexually by different means. Some of the asexual methods are binary fission (e.g. Amoeba, bacteria), budding (e.g. Hydra), fragmentation (e.g. Planaria), spore formation (e.g. ferns) and vegetative propagation (e.g. Onion). .

It involves a single parent and

produces clone

Now you think what is clone

Clone:-

It is the type of organism

that is identical to the parents (genetically).

There are many types of asexual reproduction :-

, fragmentation,spore formation, budding,etc.....

Now methods :-

● Vegetative propagation :-

In this type plants are directly produced from roots, stem ,leaf etc....

Ex - we see that in growth of eyes in potatoes.....

● Spore formation

Reproduction is done by spores which is in unfavourable condition

● Budding :-

It's gradually grow and detached from plant cell .

To form new yeast cell .....

and further it grow and matures and produces more new yeast cells......

Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction which does not involve the fusion of gametes or change in the number of chromosomes . The offspring that arise by asexual reproduction from a single cell or from a multicellular cell inherit the genes of that parents . Asexual reproduction is the primary form of reproduction single celled organisms such as archea and bacteria . Many multicellular animal , plant and fungi can also reproduce asexually .

While all prokaryotes reproduces without the formation and fusion of gametes , mechanism for lateral gene transfer such as conjugation , transformation and transduction can be likened to sexual reproduction in the sense of genetic recombination in melosis .
