Given:

Volume = 11.2 litre

To Find:

Value of PV

Solution:

Using the formula,

PV= nRT

where P is the pressure

V is the volume,

n is the number of moles,

R is Universal gas constant =0.0821 L -atm/ K-mol

T is the temperature

As mentioned in the question the condition is at STP

At STP, the pressure is 1 atm and the temperature is 273K.

Now, as 'n'is 1 for volume 22.4 lit

as

 \frac{n1}{n2}  =  \frac{v1}{v2}

therefore,

 \frac{1}{n}  =  \frac{22.4}{11.2}  = 2

n =  \frac{1}{2}

putting the values in the above equation we get,

PV = ½ x 0.0821 x 273

PV = 11.2 Lit- atm

Therefore, the value of PV is 0.5RT or 11.2 L-atm.
