As you know that our India is a secular state and the Constitution of our country gives its citizens the freedom to practise any religion of their choice. They also have the liberty to change their religion, if they wish. The state does not have any official religion and every religion is treated and respected equally in India and this goes a long way in maintaining the communal harmony in the country. However, even as the Constitution of India enforces laws to maintain communal harmony and the government of the country takes strong measures to ensure the same. There have been several instances in the past that have disrupted the peace in the name of religion.
