For a concert, 72 fans attempted to get tickets. That was 60% more than the number of tickets available. How many tickets were available?

In the above question , the following information is given -

That was 60% more than the number of tickets available.

To find -

How many tickets were available ?

Solution -

Let us assume that x tickets were available .

Number of fans , who attempted to get tickets -

=> 72 fans.

But , That was 60% more than the number of tickets available.

So , we can form the following equation -

160% of x = 72

=> ( 8 / 5 ) x = 72

=> x = 45 .

Thus , there were 45 tickets available .

This is the required answer .
