Answer:

2cm virtual erect obviously diminished

Explanation:

hi/ho = -(v)/u

substitute the values

ho is 5cm

object distance (u) = -30cm

image distance (v) = 12cm

-(12)/-30 = hi/5

(-12)*5 /-30 = hi

-60/-30 = hi

+2 = hi

Answer:

The height of the image is 2 cm.

Explanation:

Distance of the object from the pole, u = -30 cm

Distance of the image from the pole, v = 12 cm

The height of the object formed, h₀ = 5 cm

The equations for the magnification of the image are:

m = h₁/h₀  and m = -(v/u)

Where h₁ is the height of the image. By combining these equations we can write as:

h₁/h₀ = -(v/u)

⇒ h₁ = -(v/u) × h₀

   h₁ = -(12/-30) × 5

∴ h₁ = 30/15 = 2 cm
