For a freely falling body the sum of kinetic energy(K) and potential energy(U) remains constant.
Therefore, K+U = constant.

when a body fall freely under a force of gravity only...then aceeleration remain constant in this situation...This acceleration is called acceleration due to gravity as gravity is the cause for this...and The magnitude(Value) of this acceration is 9.8 m/s^2....
