For a given mass of an ideal gas at constant pressure, the graph v-t(t in Celcius Scale) intersect the temperature axis at ...
Solution : at constant pressure,
Volume of gas is directly proportional to its temperature.
i.e., V ∝ T
But here you should notice that T is Kelvin scale.
For degree Celsius, T = t + 273.15°C
so, V = kT , where k is proportionality constant
⇒V = k(t + 273.15°C) , this is a straight line graph.
If y - axis denotes V and x - axis denotes t Then, at x - axis, V = 0
0 = k(t + 273.15°C)
⇒t = -273.15°C
Therefore the graph v - t intersects the temperature axis at - 273.15°C
