Colors of Silence  is a story of  the childhood days of Satish Gujral,  a famous foremost artists of India. This is a real incident that had happened. The story explains that physical disability is no barrier to success. In this lesson, it tells how Satish Gujral ahd lost his hearing and speech ability in an accident, however this disability was no barrier to his success and he went on to become a famed artist

  • One day, Satish saw a rare bird flying here and there, one day. The tail was long and it was black. It was restless and it was still traveling. He was fascinated by the bird and sketched the bird from his memory. He liked his drawing and placed it on a pile of books beside his bunk. He had discovered his past time by filling his pages with his patterns and pictures  reflections and photos.  This  was an early indication of his interest in painting and later in 1939. He was good at writing Urdu and drawing came naturally to him.
  • He is now generally referred to as Satish Gujral. He was one of the few artists who was renowned for painting and sculpture. He's been a novelist, too. His works are displayed in prestigious museums such as the Hiroshima Collection, the Museum of Modern Art of New York. New Delhi's Washington and Modem Art National Museum. Four of his plays in the different arts he had written.
  • For his architectural design  of the Belgian Embassy in New Delhi, he won the Crown Order for the best design of the 1900s. "Padma Vibhushan" was awarded to him. He was a good example for the disabled could also achieve the best. Disability was no barrier to success.
