Given : For a particle’s journey, the magnitude of average  velocity is 20 m/s

To Find :  Which among the following  cannot be the value of average speed?

Solution:

Average Velocity =  Total Displacement / Total Time

=> 20 =  Total Displacement / T

=> Total Displacement  = 20T

Average Speed =  Total Distance / Total Time

Displacement  is the minimum Distance

Hence Displacement  ≤ Distance

=>  20T  ≤ Distance

Hence Average Speed  ≥ 20T / T

=> Average Speed  ≥  20 m/s

Hence 15 m/s can not be the value of average speed
