Given info : for a perfectly black body at a temperature of 5794K.

To find : in which region of electromagnetic spectrum does it maximum lambda lies when when b is equal to 2.897 × 10¯³ mK.

solution : according to Wien's displacement law,

λ_max T = b

where λ_max is maximum possible wavelength of black body radiated at temperature T.

here T = 5794K , b = 2.897 × 10¯³ mK

now, λ_max = b/T = (2.897 × 10¯³)/(5794)

= 0.0005 × 10¯³ m

= 5 × 10^-7 m

= 5000 × 10¯¹⁰ m = 5000 A°

visible region range = 3800 A° to 7400 A°

therefore maximum wavelength radiated from black body is existed in visible region of electromagnetic spectrum.
