Graph of Electric Field vs Distance:

  • Let's assume that a point charge q is placed at the origin (0,0) of a coordinate system.

  • The general expression of field intensity with respect to distance is :

 \boxed{ \bf E =  \dfrac{q}{4\pi  \epsilon_{0}( {r}^{2} ) } }

  • 'q' is charge , 'r' is the distance , 1/4\pi\epsilon_{0} is Coulomb's Constant.

  • Since q is constant, we can say:

 \boxed{ \bf E  \propto \dfrac{1}{{r}^{2} } }

Hence, the graph will have a hyperbolic shape.
