Breadth of rectangle =22cm

Length of rectangle =35cm

The diameter is equal to the shortest side of the rectangle.

Therefore,

Radius of circle =

22

=11cm

∴ Area of circle =πr

Hope it helps!!

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Need to cut 4 circles of radius 7cm each.

Area of 1 circle = πr²

= 3.14 × 7²

= 3.14 × 49

= 153.86 cm²

Area of 4 circle = 4 × 153.86

= 615.86

Area of square = side²

= 31²

= 961 cm²

Area of rectangular paper= l × b

= 61 × 16

= 976 cm²

If we cut four circle from square , the remaining paper will be = 961 - 651.86

= 309.14

If we cut four circle from rectangle , the remaining paper will be = 976 - 651.86 = 324.14

Square paper is best to use, wastage of paper is less than rectangle.
