the quadratic equation with roots a and b is
 x^{2} -(a+b)x+ab=0

therefore
 x^{2} -(5+2 \sqrt{3} +5-2 \sqrt{3} )x+ 5^{2} -(2 \sqrt{3}) ^{2}
 x^{2} -10x+13
