Explanation:

Given For a transistor Ic = 15 mA,Ib = 0.5mA. Find the value of current amplification factor

  • Given So the collector current Ic = 15 mA = 15 x 10^-3 A
  • Also base current Ib = 0.5 mA = 0.5 x 10^-3 A
  • We need to find the value of current amplification factor.
  • So α = Ic / Ie (Ie is the emitter current )
  • So we have Ie = Ic + Ib
  •                         = 15 x 10^-3 + 0.5 x 10^-3
  •                         = 10^-3 x 15.05 A
  •                         = 15.5 x 10^-3 A
  • Now current amplification factor
  •                       α = Ic / Ie
  •                          = 15 x 10^-3 / 15.5 x 10^-3
  •                          = 0.96774
