we know v=fλ
so v=10*2.5=25m/s
so the distance travelled is 25*40=1000m

Answer:

The wave travels 1000 m in 40 seconds.

Explanation:

Frequency which is the occurrence of an event in 1sec, f = 10Hz, means 10 waves generated in a second.

Wavelength means the distance between two consecutive crests or troughs of wave, λ = 2.5 m

Time taken by wave to travel, t = 40 Seconds

As per the formula, Velocity V = f λ = 10 x 2.5 = 25 m/s

So the distance traveled by wave in 40 Sec = v x t = 25 x 40 = 1000 m
