For an arithmetic sequence , the 8th term is 35 and the 11th term is 47
a) Find its common difference​

Difference= 3

Let “x” be the first term and “d” the constant difference

The 3rd term = (x+ 2d)

The 8th term: (x + 7d) = 23 ; Hence d= 1/7*(23-x); (1)

The 11th term: (x+10d) = 4 * (x + 2d)

Eliminating “d”: x + (10/7 * (23 - x ) = 4 * (x + 2/7 * [23 - x ])

Solving for x: x = 2

Putting the value of x = 2 into equation (1): d= 3.
