Answer:

2x+3y=1

if x=2,

2.2+3y=1

=> 3y=1-4

=> 3y= -3

=> y= -3/3

=> y= -1

Answer:

Given:-

For an equation 2x + 3y = 1, if x = 2 then y = ?

To Find:-

The value of "y".

Note:-

For finding sum variable ( unknown value of number ), we need to rearrange the numbers from one side to another ( for calculations ) that time signs are also changed. For example - positive becomes negative; multiple becomes divisional.

Left hand side sum is always = Right hand side sum.

Solution:-

x = 2, y = ?

Equation~

▪︎ 2x + 3y = 1

Applying the value~

▪︎ 2 × 2 + 3y = 1

▪︎ 4 + 3y = 1

According to note first point ( rearrangement )~

▪︎ 3y = 1 - 4

▪︎ 3y = - 3

▪︎ y = \frac{-3}{3}

After doing calculations~

▪︎ y = -1

y = -1

Checking:-

According to note second point ( L.H.S = R.H.S ), Let's check~

 2x + 3y = 1 \ \ ?

 2 × 2 + 3 × -1 = 1 \ \ ?

 4 + ( - 3 ) = 1 \ \ ?

Positive × negative = negative~

 4 - 3 = 1 \ \ ?

 1 = 1 \ \ ?

Yes!

Hence, proved that y = -1.

Answer:-

Hence, the value of y = -1.
