IT REMAINS THE SAME BECAUSE THE HEAT SUPPLIED TO A SUBSTANCE IS USED UP IN CHANGING THE STATE OF MATTER FROM ONE FORM TO ANOTHER.....BECAUSE OF WHICH NO CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE IS DETECTED...
HOPE IT HELPS

The temperature remain constant during the change of state as the latent heat goes into the substance but does not indicate its presence by producing a rise in temperature.
