this is because the latent heat which we supply is used in overcoming the forces of attraction between the particles of matter.The latent heat does not increases the kinetic energy of the particles of the substance, and since there is no increase in the kinetic energy of the particle the temperature of the substance does not rise.Hope it helps u .....if it is useful plzz mark as brainliest
