concept of heat transfer
The temperature of any substance remain constant during the change of state because the heat energy supplied is used up in changing the state of matter and also this heat is used for breaking of several bonds or attractive forces. This heat, which does not raise the temperature of the body, is called Laten heat.

Answer:
The temperature remains same in any substance in change of states because the supplied heat is used for the changing of state of the matter and also used for breaking the bonds of the intermolecular force of attraction between the molecules. Thus the heat is latent heat as the heat donot rise the temperature of the body.
