Binary fission of amoeba requires only one parent cell.

The mode of reproduction adopted by amoeba is binary fission which is an asexual mode of reproduction.

In this type of reproduction first the nuclear material of the organism duplicates and then slowly cell division takes place.

Amoeba being unicellular the division of that single cell results in formation of two daughter cells which start living as individual amoeba.
