Dx = 15, Dy= 10, D = -5

then,

x= Dx /x

= 15 / -5

= -3

Y = Dy/ y

= 10 /-5

=-2

therefore, solution is x= -3 & Y= -2

The required values x = - 3 , y = - 2

Given :

For simultaneous equations in x and y

 \sf{D  = - 5\: ,  \: D_x  = 15 \: ,  \: D_y =  10}

To find :

The value of x and y

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given data

Here it is given that for simultaneous equations in x and y

 \sf{D  = - 5\: ,  \: D_x  = 15 \: ,  \: D_y =  10}

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the value of x and y

Using Cramer's rule we get

 \displaystyle \sf{x =  \frac{D_x}{D}   =  \frac{15}{-5} = - 3  }

 \displaystyle \sf{y =  \frac{D_y}{D}   =  \frac{10}{-5} =  - 2 }

Hence the required values are x = - 3 , y = - 2

Correct question : for certain simultaneous equation  \sf{D  = - 5\: ,  \: D_x  = 15 \: ,  \: D_y =  10} find the value of x and y
