For deriving p-type semiconductor, the element to be mixed with silicon is element with 3 valence electron are used such as, Boron, Aluminum etc.
P-type semiconductor stands positive semiconductor, which means they have more number of holes than the electrons, to achieve this we need to dope a silicon atom with a element which has 3 electron in its valence shall, so that after doping with silicon, the number of holes becomes greater than the number of electrons.
