The Raoult's Law states that at a given temperature , for a solution of volatile liquids, the partial vapour pressure of each compononent of the solution is directly proportional to its mole fraction present in the solution.

For component 1,

p1 varies x1 i.e. p1 = p1 knot * x1

similarly for component 2,

p2 = p2 knot * x2
