For each of the following figures find the total area of shaded regions, where O is the centre of circle.

1. B= 10+15=25cm

L= 12+14=26cm

Area of rectangle =lxb=26x25=650cm²

b=9cm

h=10cm

area of parallelogram =bxh=10x9=90cm²

b=12

h=15

area of triangle=1/2xbh=1/2x12x15=60cm²

r=4

area of circle=πr²=3.14x4²=3.14x16=50.24cm²

AREA OF SHADED REGION = 650-90-60-50.24=449.76CM²

2. h= 18 cm

a= 18 cm

b= 35 cm

r= 6 cm

AREA OF SHADED REGION=AREA OF TRAPIZIUM - AREA OF CIRCLE

= 1/2(a+b)xh - π x r²

= 1/2(18+35)x18 - 3.14x6²

= 53 x 9 - 3.14 x 36

=477-113.04

=363.96cm²
