It is clear that all three figures are square and one is right angled triangle.

Also areas of square are given as 36cm² and 64cm²

Now we know that all sides of square are same and area of square is (side)²

hence we can determine sides of square.

→ 36cm²=a²

→ 6cm=a

Similarly

→ 64cm²=b²

→ 8cm=b

Now we have each side of small squares and two sides of a triangle so we can determine 3rd side of triangle by of Pythagoras theorem

→ 6²+8²=x²

→ 100=x²

→ 10=x

now we have 3rd side of triangle and one side of shaded square.

hence we can determine its area

10 x 10=100cm²
