we know that, ∆ or discriminant=b^2-4ac
:. ∆=(-1)^2+4×√5×√5
:. ∆=1+4×5_______explaination:-√a×√a=a
:. ∆= 1+20
:. ∆= 21
hence the value of discriminat for equation ax^2+bx+c=0 is 21.
