Answer:

put x=1 in f (x)

we get

a+ b+ c=8.........eq1

as f(1)=8

similarly

put x= -1 in f( x)

we get

a-b+c=4 ........eq2

as f (-1) =4

now adding eq1 and eq2

we get

a+b+c+a-b+c=8+4 =12

2a+2c=12

a+c=6
