For fox, grey fur (G) is dominant to yellow fur (g). If a grey female is crossed with a yellow male then some of their offsprings have yellow fur. What is the possible genotype of female parent?

Answer:

The possible genotype of female can be Gg.

If some offsprings have Yellow fur then it is Gg.

If all offsprings have Yellow fur then it is gg. But it is not possible as in such a case, the female would be yellow and not grey.

It is because if the male has yellow fur then it definitely had the genotype gg. And if female had Grey fur then it can have genotype GG or Gg.
