- CSA of cylinder = 2π ( y² - 7y + 12 )
- Substitute the given values respectively
- 2π ( y - 3 ) × h = 2π ( y² - 7y + 12 )
- Cancel out 2π
- ( y - 3 )h = ( y² - 7y + 12 )
- ( y - 3 ) h = ( y² - 3y - 4y + 12 )
- ( y - 3 ) h = y ( y - 3 ) - 4 ( y - 3 )
- ( y - 3 ) h = ( y - 3 )( y - 4 )
- y - 3 cancels out
- h = y - 4
