Given :-

  • Rate of tomato = ₹ 18 per kg
  • Rate of potato = ₹ 13 per kg

To Find :- The total cost of 2(1/2) kg of tomato and 1(1/ 2 kg of potato ?

A) ₹ 45.00 B) ₹ 54.50 C) ₹ 59.60 D) ₹ 64.50

Solution :-

→ Cost of 1 kg of tomato = ₹ 18

So,

→ Total Cost of 2(1/2) kg of tomato = 18 × 2(1/2) = 18 × (5/2) = (9 × 2 × 5)/2 = ₹ 45 -------- Equation (1)

similarly,

→ Cost of 1 kg of potato = ₹ 13

So,

→ Total Cost of 1(1/2) kg of potato = 13 × 1(1/2) = 13 × (3/2) = (39/2) = ₹ 19.50 ------- Equation (2)

then,

→ Required total cost = Total cost of tomato + Total cost of potato

putting values from Equation (1) and (2),

→ Required total cost = 45 + 19.50 = ₹ 64.50 (D) (Ans.)

therefore, The total cost of 2(1/2) kg of tomato and 1(1/ 2 kg of potato is equal to ₹ 64.50 .
