The following are some laws of exponents:

1. Product Law

When multiplying two integers with the same base, we may add the exponents using the product law of exponents, as follows:

∴  x^m x^n= x^{m+n}

2. Quotient Law

We may divide two integers with the same base by removing their exponents, according to the quotient law of exponents.

∴  \frac{x^m}{x^n}=x^{m-n}

3. Power Law

If a number raises its power to a power, just multiply the exponents, according to the power law of exponents.

∴  (x^m)^n=x^{mn}

4. Power of Product Rule

The rule of product power states:

∴  (a*b)^n= a^n b^n

5. Power of Quotient Rule

The power of product rule states that:

∴  (\frac{a}{b})^n=\frac{a^n}{b^n}

6. Reciprocal Law

According to the reciprocal law;

∴  a^{-n}=\frac{1}{a^n}
