There is no age for learning. A person can gain education and knowledge at any age. If you have the intention and the dedication to learn then you can do so at any age. The grandmother in the story had always wanted to go to school as a child but was not able to do so. She fulfilled her dream through her granddaughter as soon as she got a chance. She showed everyone that your determination is enough to help you in gaining education even if you are old. anyone who has the power or ability to learn and curious to learn he / she can go to school or tution of any age. without learning every one feel dependent on the others . this do not give a good effort and so they feel sorry and think themselves as a burden to the earth. as for example given in our textbook by how the grand mother learned kanadda language when she was so old.

I am giving you the points u can then frame the answer:
1.even at the age of sixty-two, nothing could deter her from learning Kannada
2.has a great interest in learning and appetite for knowledge
3.in spite of being born and brought up in an orthodox environment, she could value the importance of literacy
4.one of the strong characters in the story as she possesses radical ideas that "for learning there is no age bar"
5.full of optimism as stated in the lines said by her, "For a good cause if you are determined, you can overcome any obstacle"
6 stern in her thinking and strong in her actions as towards the end she managed to read the book 'Kashi Yatre'

mRohit: thanks maroon
