a. how will it affect the taste of the cake and why?
b.how can baking soda be converted into baking powder?

(a) it makes the cake taste slightly bitter

(b) baking powder =baking soda +mild edible acid like tartaric acid

(c) it makes baking soda turned into baking powder hence the cake doesn't taste bitter anymore
