for rationalizing the denominater we have to multiply both numerator and denominator by the denominator with opposite sign e.g your denominator is 3-2 and numerator is 2+1 ( 2+1 /3-2) so we have to multiply like this :- 2+1/3-2 × 3+2 /3+2 .

so in this question 1/root 8 there is only one term in denominator so sign will not be change

it s solution is like this:-

1/ root 8 × root 8 / root 8

= root 8 / 8 is the ans ..
