for rectangular plot having 72 square meter area , find the sides if length is twice the breadth

dub3000: the first answer is wrong
dub3000: u can check by the formula
dub3000: l*b
dub3000: 72*36 iś not 72 square meter
dub3000: 12*6 is 72 square mwter
dub3000: meter
Priyanshikhurana: right

SOLUTION

Given,

Rectangular plot area = 72m^2

let the length be 2x

& breadth be x

=) Area of rectangular plot= l×b

=) 72m^2 = 2x × x

=) 72m^2 = 2x^2

=) x^2= 72/2

=) x^2= 36

=) x= √36

=) x= 6m

Now,

length = 2x= 2×6= 12m

breadth= x= 6m

HOPE it helps ✔️

let the length be 2x m

let the breadth be x m

area of rectangle = l * b

=> 72 = 2x * x

 =  > 72 = 2x {}^{2}

 =  > x {}^{2}  = 72  \div 2

 =  > x {}^{2}  = 36

 =  >  \sqrt{} x {}^{2}  =  \sqrt{  } 36

 =  > x = 6

therefore, length (2x) = (6*2)m=12m

breadth (x) =6m
