if ur question is

 \sqrt{2}  x { }^{2}  - 5x {}{}  +  \ \sqrt{2}  = 0

then the ans is 17 as discriminant= b² - 4ac

explanation: (-5)²= 25 root 2 * root 2 = 2 then 4*2 = 8 25 - 8= 17
