answer

Let x y z be the number of bananas, mangoes and apples.

x+y+z=100. (Quantity)……….(1)

x/40+3y+5z=100. (Cost)……(2)

Eliminate x from (1) & (2)

199/40x+2y=400

Now x & y are= or >0 and <100

By trial & error x=80 and y=1 (x has to be a multiple of 40)

Putting value of x and y in (1)

z =19

So number of bananas =80

Mangoes 1

Apples 19
