FINAL ANSWER:-

  • a=\frac{3}{2}
  • d=-1

GIVEN:-

AP \:\:\frac{3}{2},\frac{1}{2},\frac{-1}{2},\frac{-3}{2}....

TO FIND:-

  • first term (a1)
  • common difference (d)

FORMULAS USED:-

common difference ⇒ 2^{nd}term-1^{st}termd=a2-a1

SOLUTION:-

as first term is the first term of the AP

so

  • a=\frac{3}{2}

common difference is the difference between each arithmetic progression or term and it is represented with 's'

d= a2-a1 \\d=\frac{1}{2}-\frac{3}{2} \\d=\frac{1-3}{2} \\d=\frac{-2}{2}

  • \\d=-1

hence

first term is \frac{3}{2}

common-difference is -1
